Available Positions.

The Michigan Council on Crime and Delinquency (MCCD) is seeking six (6) Staff Skills Development / Violence Prevention Programming Specialists. All positions are term limited based on availability of funds through a contract with the State of Michigan. The positions are designed to increase capacity within the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) to deliver new evidence-based programming to prisoners consistent with implementation of the Michigan Prisoner ReEntry Initiative (MPRI).

Primary work location will be at one of the three Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) correctional facilities listed below with limited travel to Lansing, Michigan.

Primary Work Locations:

  • Richard Handlon Correctional Facility (MTU), Ionia, MI 
  • Macomb Correctional Facility (MRF), New Haven, MI
  • St. Louis Correctional Facility (SLF), St. Louis, MI

AmeriCorps Positions

The Michigan Council on Crime and Delinquency (MCCD) is Michigan’s only statewide not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the effectiveness of policies and systems aimed at preventing and controlling crime. Through a partnership with state and local government agencies and community-based organizations, MCCD is coordinating the Inner-City Neighborhood Project, a public safety and national service initiative to reduce crime and improve employment outcomes for felony offenders who are recently released from the state prison system. The Project is implemented in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Saginaw, and Benton Harbor. Full-time Project Facilitator positions requiring a minimum of 1700 service hours starting October 15, 2010 are available in Saginaw, Grand Rapids, and Benton Harbor.
